Though ultimately, Metro Magazine didn’t choose my overall creative direction, I worked closely with fellow designers at Sevnthsin to iterate on the chosen direction. Many features still needed to be built out — Photo galleries, bookmarking, and an extensible CSS framework for laying out the magazine.
We’d originally planned on creating a series of templates for the HTML versions of their layouts. However, like many small publishers who are working next to looming deadlines, they don’t often work with rigid templates. Instead, we offered them a fluid CSS framework for building layouts on the fly.
